Brothers
in Faith

"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." — Proverbs 27:17

Our mission: to transform men through Jesus Christ through authentic, weekly discipleship and fellowship.

Who We Are

Men Growing Together in Christ

Brothers in Faith is a network of Christian men's small groups rooted in Charlotte, NC. We believe that real growth happens in community — when men commit to showing up for one another, studying Scripture together, and holding each other accountable in faith and life.

We challenge and encourage each other toward spiritual maturity and the transformed lives God intends for us. Whether you're new to faith, long in the journey, or somewhere in between, there is a place for you here.

Rooted in Scripture

Every group centers on God's Word as the foundation for conversations, challenges, and growth.

We challenge each other to believe the incredible news that God actually knows us, loves us, and wants to transform us into spiritual maturity. Every man needs brothers who will speak truth, offer grace, and walk alongside him.

Our Story

About Brothers in Faith

Our Mission

Why We Exist

Brothers in Faith is a community of Christian men who come together each week to grow in faith, follow Jesus Christ more faithfully, and support one another in discipleship. In small groups, we challenge and encourage each other toward spiritual maturity and the transformed lives God intends for us.

Brothers in Faith is modeled after Fellowship in Discipleship (FIND), a proven small group model founded by Clint Harrington in Houston that has grown to over 325 men in 43 groups that lead and worship in 52 different churches participating in transformational discipleship groups across our nation's 4th largest city. We believe this model works — because it has. David Dietert was previously a member of a FIND small group for many years in Houston, and has brought that experience to Brothers in Faith in Charlotte.

Scripture First

The Bible is our guide. Every group study, every discussion, every decision is anchored in God's Word as the inspired and inerrant rule of faith and practice.

Authentic Relationships

We make space for honesty. Real brotherhood requires the courage to be known — and to truly know others. No masks. No spectators.

Accountability

We challenge each other to live with integrity — in our homes, our workplaces, and our communities. Iron sharpens iron.

Multiplication

Every man who is transformed has a responsibility to share that transformation. We grow by inviting others into what God is doing.

How It Works

The Small Group Model

Each group consists of at least 6 and no more than 10 men, formed through the design and timing of the Holy Spirit. Groups meet weekly for roughly one hour, on a day, time, and location that works for the group. Typically, group members are strangers or acquaintances when they begin — and become lifelong brothers.

There are no paid staff, no professional facilitators, and no outsiders running the groups. Every man leads. Every man serves. Every man grows.

6–10

Men Per Group

Small enough for intimacy. Large enough for real accountability and diverse perspective.

1hr

Weekly Meetings

Each group meets weekly for roughly one hour of focused dialogue, discipleship, and fellowship.

0

Spectators

Every man comes prepared to contribute. Active participation is the expectation, not the exception.

Potential

Groups that complete their first season are encouraged to multiply — launching new groups with new men.

Doctrinal Statement

What We Believe

The beliefs that guide Brothers in Faith are at work every day. Our groups are grounded in the following doctrinal commitments, used with permission from Fellowship in Discipleship.

The entire Bible is the inspired Word of God; the rule of faith and practice.

There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary — true Man and true God.

In this age, God manifests Himself through the Holy Spirit, whose task is to convict sinners, regenerate believers, and empower them to live godly lives that glorify the Father and Son.

Man was created in the image of God, sinned, and thereby incurred spiritual death — eternal separation from God — which is upon all men.

The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; all who believe in Him are justified by His shed blood.

The Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected in body, ascended into Heaven, presently lives as our High Priest and Advocate, and His personal, physical return to earth is imminent.

There will be a bodily resurrection of both the just and the unjust — the just to everlasting blessedness, the unjust to everlasting conscious suffering.

Leadership

Our Coordinator

Brothers in Faith is coordinated by David Dietert. David provides support to all active groups through regular health checks, leader development, and one-on-one follow-up with group members as needed. He also serves as the primary point of contact for men interested in joining or starting a group.

Our group leaders are not professional clergy — they are men who have been shaped by the small group experience themselves. They serve as facilitators, encouragers, and fellow travelers on the journey of faith.

The Group Covenant

Our Commitments to Each Other

Brothers in Faith's mission is to transform men through Jesus Christ through authentic, weekly discipleship and fellowship. Every member reads and signs a Group Covenant — not a contract with God, but a bond of co-commitment to one another and to discipleship.

Confidentiality

All conversations, prayer requests, and fellowship time are kept completely confidential — contributing to a climate of honesty, trust, transparency, and vulnerability.

"Argue your case with your neighbor himself, and do not reveal another's secret." — Proverbs 25:9

Preparation

Come prepared each week and be an active, contributing part of the group. No spectators.

"Preparing your minds for action… set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you." — 1 Peter 1:13

Participation

Groups meet weekly for roughly one hour. Successful participation means attending at least 75% of the time.

"Not neglecting to meet together… but encouraging one another." — Hebrews 10:25

Transformation

Fully offer yourself to the Lord, anticipating a time of accelerated transformation in your life.

"Be transformed by the renewal of your mind." — Romans 12:2

Discipline

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, commit to living a life of discipline as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation." — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Accountability

Commit to transparency and honesty, understanding that real growth in Christ happens when trusted others speak truth into our lives.

"Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." — Proverbs 27:17

Multiplication

Continue the discipleship mission by sharing the benefits of small group life with at least one other man per year.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations." — Matthew 28:19
